Over the past 24 hours solar activity has slightly decreased with respect to the previous 2 days. The largest flare was a B5.7 class flare, which peaked at 10:59 UT today. There are four Active Regions (ARs) more currently on the solar disk. NOAA AR 2542 demonstrates the evidence of magnetic flux cancellation. AR 2544 (Dso:Beta) may develop flaring activity in the next few days. Solar protons have remained at background levels over the past 24 hours. No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) have been detected. However, filament eruption has been occurred today at 10:44 UT at the Western limb. Solar activity is expected to remain low over the next 24 hours.
The solar wind parameters variations are decaying after the influence of the negative coronal hole high speed stream. The solar wind speed has decreased till approximately 500 km/s over the past 24 hours. The total magnetic field strength magnitude has decreased till 4-6 nT. The Bz component of magnetic field has been mostly positive over the past 24 hr and decreased till 2-5 nT in magnitude. Geomagnetic conditions ranged between Kp index 1-4 (NOAA) and local K index 1-4 (Dourbes) over the past 24 hours. Geomagnetic activity is expected to remain low within next 2 days. Solar wind parameters variations are expected to decrease even more and Kp index is expected to be ranged between 1-3.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 077, based on 18 stations.
