There are two active regions on the disc, NOAA AR 2706 and 2707. No C-class flares in past 24 h, NOAA AR 2706 has a beta magnetic field configuration and is capable of C-class flaring.
No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) have been detected. Solar protons have remained at background levels over the past 24 hours.
The solar wind speed at L1 is at 390 km /s with interplanetary magnetic field magnitude of 4 nT. Geomagnetic conditions are quiet and expected to remain so for the next 48h. By then, the fast solar wind related to the southern extension of the northern polar coronal hole can affect the Earth and cause active geomagnetic conditions (although it may pass north of the Earth).
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 021, based on 13 stations.
