Bulletin

Seven active regions were reported by NOAA today. The flaring activity is dominated by the NOAA AR 2422 (Catania number 39) that developed the beta-gamma-delta configuration of its photospheric magnetic field. Today it produced two C-class flares, and an M1.9 flare peaking at 10:40 UT. No CME seems to be associated with this flare. We expect flaring activity up to the M-level. Due to the position of the NOAA AR 2422 (Catania number 39) close to the solar central meridian, an eruptive flare in this region may be associated to an Earth-directed CME. The Earth is currently inside a slow (around 420 km/s) solar wind flow with average (5-6 nT) interplanetary magnetic field magnitude. The geomagnetic conditions are quiet and are expected to remain so.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 152, based on 19 stations.
