Bulletin

Over the past 24 hours, solar flaring activity has been low, with the flare of the largest X-ray output the C1.4-class flare, peak time May 27 15:43UTC, from NOAA AR 3023 as well as a C1.4-class flare, peak time May 27 19:33UTC, from NOAA AR 3024. For the next 24 hours, C-class flares can be expected.

No significant Earth-directed coronal mass ejections have been observed over the past 24 hours.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2MeV electron flux was below the 1000 pfu threshold over the past 24 hours. It can be expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence was at normal levels and is expected to be at normal levels in the next 24 hours.

Over the past 24 hours, solar wind conditions reflect the evolution of the effects of the high speed stream. The magnetic field values slowly decreased from 18 to 3nT, while Bz fluctuated between 16 and 10nT. The solar wind speed reached values of 570 km/s. The interplanetary magnetic field phi angle was predominantly at the negative sector (towards the Sun). Over the next 24 hours, we are expecting those effects from high speed stream to continue.

Over the past 24 hours, there was a minor geomagnetic storm (Kp and K Dourbes=5). Over the next 24 hours, mainly unsettled to active conditions are expected.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 043, based on 15 stations.
