Active sunspot region 2443

Sunspot region 2443 has been very active during the past 12 hour with many C-class solar flares. A C7.9 solar flare at 20:16 UTC being the strongest solar flare thus far from this sunspot region since it rotated into view.

Below you will find an image of sunspot region 2443 in visible light as seen by the NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory. Our analysis shows that this sunpot region has a delta sunspot located in the trailing area of this sunspot region. This means that this sunspot region has a very clear Beta-Gamma-Delta magnetic layout. M-class (R1-R2) activity is possible in the coming 24 hours.

M-class flare probability for the coming 24 hours: 55% chance
X-class flare probability for the coming 24 hours: 5% chance

Any mentioned solar flare in this article has a scaling factor applied by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC), the reported solar flares are 42% smaller than for the science quality data. The scaling factor has been removed from our archived solar flare data to reflect the true physical units.
