Geophysical report

Any mentioned solar flare in this report has a scaling factor applied by the Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). Because of the SWPC scaling factor, solar flares are reported as 42% smaller than for the science quality data. The scaling factor has been removed from our archived solar flare data to reflect the true physical units.

The greater than 10 MeV proton event that began on 30/0245 UTC remains in progress, maximum flux was 108 pfu at 31/1620 UTC.
C. Geomagnetic Activity Summary
The geomagnetic field has been at quiet levels.
D. Stratwarm
STRATWARM ALERT EXISTS STRATWARM THURSDAY MAJOR WARMING CONTINUES. THE WARMING OVER THE POLAR REGION IS LEADING TO A REVERSED TEMPERATURE GRADIENT BETWEEN 50 AND 3 HPA, WITH EASTERLY ZONAL MEAN WINDS FROM 10 TO 2HPA.
