Bulletin

Solar activity is expected to reach eruptive levels with C class flares likely, especially from NOAA ARs 1640, 1650, 1652 and 1653. A C3.1 flare occurred today at 0852 UT (peak time) in NOAA AR 1640. A partial halo CME was observed on LASCO C2, around 0412 UT on Jan. 7, on the east limb. There is currently no clear evidence that the source of this event is located on the visible disk. Geomagnetic activity is expected to be quiet for the next 48 hours.
