Bulletin

Solar activity has been eruptive the past 24 hours featuring several C-class flares mostly originating from AR NOAA 1756 (Catania 82). Active conditions are expected with M-class flares especially from AR NOAA 1755 (Catania 83) and NOAA 1756 (Catania 82). Proton levels of 30 MeV and 50 Mev have dropped below the 10.0 pfu treshold, but 10 MeV, although going down, is still above the 10.0 pfu treshold. Geomagnetic conditions where quiet to moderate. The interplanetary magnetic field Bz component is currently low, but turbulent which could indicate the arrival of the May 20th CME. A jump in solar wind speed is not expected with this CME. Major Storm conditions (K >= 6) are expected on May 25th around 17:00 UT due to the arrival of the CME of May 22.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 074, based on 12 stations.
