Solar activity was low during the past 24 hours. A C1.8 class flare erupted at 5:22 UT from NOAA AR 1762, a new region that emerged in the southern solar hemisphere. NOAA AR 1762 has beta configuration of the photospheric magnetic field. C-class flaring activity is expected for the next 48 hours. The current solar wind speed reaches values up to 750 km/s. The magnitude of the interplanetary magnetic field decreased to 5 nT with a Bz-component fluctuating between -5 and +5 nT. The current geomagnetic active conditions (K=3 to 4) are expected to continue today and to decrease tomorrow to quiet or unsettled.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 051, based on 14 stations.
