Bulletin

Six sunspot groups are reported by Catania today. C-class flares are possible in Catania sunspot groups 33, 35, and 38. Catania sunspot group 33 (NOAA AR 1793) evolved from beta-gamma to beta configuration of its photospheric magnetic field. Catania sunspot group 35 (NOAA AR 1800) shows evidence of emerging magnetic flux. Catania sunspot group 38 (no NOAA number yet) just appeared from behind the east solar limb. The Earth is currently inside a slow (around 380 km/s) solar wind flow with average (4-5 nT) interplanetary magnetic field magnitude. We expect quiet geomagnetic conditions in the coming hours. On July 25 we expect the arrival of the fast flow from the equatorial coronal hole, possibly resulting in active geomagnetic conditions.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 052, based on 15 stations.
