Over the past 24 hours solar activity has been low. No significant flares have been recorded. No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) have been detected. AR 2664 (Mcintosh class:Hsx; Mag. type:Alpha) has produced little activity. There’s a small centrally located filament channel which looks stable, and a small northern coronal hole extending to lower latitudes that has moved into the Western hemisphere and may increase solar wind speeds in a couple of days. Solar activity is expected to remain low over the next 24 hours with a low probability of C-class flares and a very low probability of M-class flares.
The solar wind speed has fluctuated around 320 km/s over the past 24 hours. The total magnetic field strength has fluctuated between 3 and 8 nT. The Bz component fluctuated around 0 nT, but has been mainly positive. Geomagnetic conditions ranged between Kp index 1-3 (NOAA) and local K index 0-3 (Dourbes) over the past 24 hours. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be quiet.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 023, based on 21 stations.

Current data suggests there is a slight possibility for aurora to appear at the following high latitude regions in the near future
ReykjavikA lot of people come to SpaceWeatherLive to follow the Sun's activity or if there is aurora to be seen, but with more traffic comes higher server costs. Consider a donation if you enjoy SpaceWeatherLive so we can keep the website online!
