Bulletin

Over the past 24 hours solar activity has been Low. No significant flares have been recorded. There are currently no significant ARs on the solar disk. No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) have been detected. The greater than 10MeV proton flux remained at background levels over the past 24 hours. Solar activity is expected to remain low over the next 24 hours with a low probability of C-class flares. The solar wind speed has decreased from around 525 to 420 km/s over the past 24 hours. The total magnetic field strength has fluctuated around 4nT. The Bz component has been mainly negative, fluctuating between -4 and +4 nT. Geomagnetic conditions ranged between Kp index 1-2 (NOAA) and local K index 1-3 (Dourbes) over the past 24 hours. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be quiet over the next 24 hours. Mostly unsettled geomagnetic conditions can be expected from tomorrow (17 September) due to the expected influences from the negative polarity coronal hole.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 20 stations.
