There are no active regions visible on the solar disk. No C-class flares in past 24 h. Solar activity is expected to remain at very low levels.
No Earth directed Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) have been detected. Solar protons have remained at background levels over the past 24 hours.
The solar wind speed is at 380 km/s with interplanetary magnetic fields of 14 nT. Geomagnetic conditions have been quiet. The compression region in front of the fast solar wind stream expected for today is already visible in DSCOVR data starting at 10:00 UT with increased magnetic field intensities reaching 14 nT and Bz up to -10 nT. The polarity of the interplanetary magnetic field changed from negative to positive, the same polarity as the coronal hole on the Sun. Disturbed geomagnetic conditions are expected up to major storm levels.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 22 stations.
