Bulletin

Solar activity increased over the past 24 hours. NOAA active region 2732 produced four B class flares among them the largest B8.6 flare peaking at 05:51 UT today (January, 6). No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed in available coronagraphic imagery. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels. Solar activity is expected to be at low levels with a chance for C-class flare. The solar wind speed remained below 530 km/s over the past 24 hours. The interplanetary magnetic field magnitude remained below 6 nT. Bz varied between -3 and +3 nT. Geomagnetic conditions ranged between Kp index 2-3 (NOAA) and local K index 1-4 (Dourbes) over the past 24 hours. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be from quiet to unsettled.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 07 stations.
