Bulletin

The Sun was spotless. Solar activity was at very low levels and is expected to remain so. A small active region may round the northeast limb on 16 May.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux and the greater than 2 MeV electron flux were at nominal levels during the last 24 hours and are expected to remain so.

No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed in available coronagraphic imagery.

Solar wind speed varied between 280 and 320 km/s, with Bz varying between -3 and +5 nT (DSCOVR). The direction of the interplanetary magnetic field (phi angle) was mostly oriented away from the Sun (positive sector), being in a negative sector during the 00-03UT interval and briefly around 21UT and 08UT.

Geomagnetic activity was at quiet levels, with unsettled conditions recorded by Dourbes during the 09-12UT interval. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be mostly quiet with an occasional unsettled episode possible.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 22 stations.
