Solar activity was at very low levels and is expected to remain so. The visible solar disk returned to spotlessness. A patchy positive polarity coronal hole (CH) is transiting the central meridian.
The greater than 10 MeV proton flux and the greater than 2 MeV electron flux were at nominal levels during the last 24 hours and are expected to remain so.
No earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed in available coronagraphic imagery.
Solar wind speed continued its gradual decline from about 430 km/s to its current values near 370 km/s (DSCOVR). Bz varied between -2 and +3 nT. The direction of the interplanetary magnetic field (phi angle) was predominantly directed away from the Sun (positive sector).
Geomagnetic activity was at quiet levels, with an unsettled interval (12-15UT) recorded at Dourbes. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be mostly quiet, with a chance on an unsettled interval in particular on 9 July if a glancing blow from the 5 July CME would affect the earth environment.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 000, based on 15 stations.

Current data suggests there is a slight possibility for aurora to appear at the following high latitude regions in the near future
Gillam, MB, Yellowknife, NTA lot of people come to SpaceWeatherLive to follow the Sun's activity or if there is aurora to be seen, but with more traffic comes higher server costs. Consider a donation if you enjoy SpaceWeatherLive so we can keep the website online!
