Bulletin

The solar activity was low over the last 24 hours. NOAA Active Region (AR) 2833 (Catania number 7) did not produce any significant activity. However, an yet unnamed AR, currently turning into view (N30E80), produced a C3.5 flare that peaked at 07:07UT. Another yet unnamed AR (S30E90) is also in the process of turning into view. NOAA AR 2833 is expected to decay in the next 24 hours, while the progress of the ARs located at N30E80 and S30E90 cannot be accessed as it is too early to determine their magnetic configuration. More C-class flares are expected in the next 24 hours from the AR at N30E80, with a reasonable chance of M-class flare activity.

No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections have been confirmed in the available coronagraphic imagery.

The greater than 10 MeV proton flux was at nominal levels over the past 24 hours and is expected to remain so for the next 24 hours. The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was below the 1000 pfu threshold in the past 24 hours and is expected to remain so during the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence was at normal levels in the last 24 hours and is expected to stay at normal levels for the next 24 hours.

The solar wind speed fluctuated between 320 and 380 km/s over the past 24 hours. The total magnetic field strength had values between 0.5 and 8.7 nT, while its Bz component varied between -4.8 and 6.8 nT. The interplanetary magnetic field phi angle was predominantly on the negative sector (directed towards the Sun).

Geomagnetic conditions were at quiet levels (NOAA Kp and K Dourbes 1-2) over the past 24 hours. The are expected to remain at quiet levels over the next 24 hours.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 011, based on 20 stations.
