Beta-delta region NOAA AR 2320 released six C flares during the past 24 hours. The strongest flare was a C8.0 flare which peaked at 8:03 UT on April 10. It was associated to a dimming and a Type II radio burst observed at Humain. No coronagraph images were available yet at the time of this message. In the next 24 hours, M flaring is possible, with a slight chance for an X flare, especially from AR 2320. Solar wind speed increased from about 360 km/s to about 490 km/s and is gradually decreasing again with current values near 400 km/s. The Interplanetary Magnetic Field magnitude rose from about 10 to 20 nT. This is probably in response to the arrival of the CME of April 6. Bz was below -5 nT between 22h (on April 9) and 0h UT, and between 1:30 and 2:45 UT on April 10, with a lowest Bz value of -12 nT. K Dourbes registered a minor geomagnetic storm (K Dourbes = 5) between 4h and 6h UT, while NOAA Kp reached 5 between 0h and 3h UT; 6 between 3h and 6h UT; and again 5 between 6h and 9h UT. Minor to major storm episodes may occur during April 10 if Bz dives below -5 nT again. Quiet geomagnetic levels (K Dourbes < 4) are expected on April 11 and 12.
Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 036, based on 17 stations.
