Bulletin

Solar flaring activity was very low, with X-ray flux remaining below C level. Catania group 90 (NOAA 2554) rotated over the West limb and Catania group 92 remains a simple unipolar sunspot group. All other groups are insignificant. X-ray levels are expected to remain below C level. No Earth directed CMEs have been observed in coronagraph data. Solar wind is recovering from the high speed stream influence of the positive polarity coronal hole. Solar wind speed decayed to currently still slightly elevated values around 550 km/s while the total magnetic field strength is back at nominal values of just below 6nT. The Bz component has been mostly positive with the phi angle indicating positive polarity. Geomagnetic conditions were quiet to unsettled and expected to remain so as the solar wind speed further decreases.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 031, based on 15 stations.
