Bulletin

Beta region NOAA AR 2661 produced a C2.7 flare peaking at 5:31 UT on June 5. Solar Demon detected the flare and an associated dimming. A new region near 80W20N showed flux and sunspot emergence and released a C1.2 flare which peaked at 9:55 UT on June 5 (along with several high B flares). Low solar activity (C flaring) is expected in the next 24 hours. No Earth directed CMEs have been observed in available coronagraph images. Proton flux levels are at background values and are expected to remain so. Solar wind speed measured by DSCOVR decreased from about 410 to 330 km/s in the past 24 hours, while the magnitude of the Interplanetary Magnetic Field (IMF) varied between about 3 and 5 nT. Quiet geomagnetic conditions (K Dourbes between 0 and 2; NOAA Kp between 0 and 2) were registered in the past 24 hours. Quiet to unsettled levels (K Dourbes < 4) are expected on June 5, 6 and 7.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 034, based on 15 stations.
