Bulletin

Over the past 24 hours the solar activity remained at very low levels with low B-class flaring. Active regions NOAA 2893 (alpha), NOAA 2894 (alpha) and NOAA 2895 (beta) remained inactive and stable. NOAA 2893 is now approaching the west limb and NOAA 2895 has significantly shrunk. The solar activity is expected to be at very low levels over the next 24 hours with a minor chance for C-class flaring.

No Earth-directed coronal mass ejections (CMEs) were observed in available coronagraph imagery. The south-west partial halo CME observed by LASCO/C2 around 09:30 UTC on Nov 11th has no clear on-disc signature and is estimated to be back-sided.

Over the past 24 hours the greater than 10 MeV proton flux has returned to background levels and is expected to remain so in the next 24 hours. The greater than 2MeV electron was under the 1000 pfu threshold and is expected to remain so for the next 24 hours. The 24h electron fluence was at nominal levels and is expected to remain so.

Over the past 24 hours the solar wind parameters (ACE and DSCOVR) remained at background slow solar wind conditions. The solar wind speed was in the range of 362 to 451 km/s. The interplanetary magnetic field had a maximum of 7.2 nT with minimum Bz of -5.5 nT. The interplanetary magnetic transitioned from the positive to the negative sector in the early afternoon of Nov 11th, possibly reflecting the expected arrival of solar wind from a small mid-latitude negative-polarity coronal hole. The solar wind parameters are expected to remain at background solar wind conditions over the next 24 hours.

The geomagnetic conditions over the past 24 hours were globally quiet with several isolated unsettled periods registered in Belgium. The geomagnetic conditions are expected to remain quiet with possible isolated unsettled periods.

Today's estimated international sunspot number (ISN): 036, based on 18 stations.
